I had the pleasure of meeting Kimmie Easley in person at a book fair in Decatur, Ga. It isn’t often that I get to meet fellow writers that I know online and currently, she is only the second. She is indeed as friendly in person as she is online and I just had to buy her book, Souls Set Free. Which by the way grabs you in the first chapter but be forewarned, if you are like me -or the reader mentioned in the first link below- you may have to set it back down until you are ready to absorb the story that will leave you forever changed.
I spent time perusing Kimmie’s blog, The Musings of a Misfit (which by the way I can totally relate to since I have been one -misfit- most of my life) and not only did I find a book that I want to read from one of her reviews, but I learned a lot more about Kimmie. First she really likes to help other writer’s by sharing information, reviews, blog hops, and tips. Second she has a gentle and courageous heart that shines through in her writing.
Readers Change Lives – This had me in tears. One of her readers sent her a heartfelt letter that any writer would love to receive. I aspire to have my writing affect a reader the way that Kimmie’s writing touched this woman’s heart.
Review: On the 12th Date of Christmas by Nikki Lynn Barrett – I am not one to read a lot of romance, there has to be something special about it (one of the reasons I love Nora Roberts so much) but with the review that Kimmie gave this book I definitely want to read it. I will be checking it out soon!
Top 8 Tips for Writing Dialogue Granted I currently write mostly poetry but I found this post to be very informative on writing dialogue and thought you might too!
Watch for Kimmie Easley’s next book, Gutter Princess, coming out sometime this year! Whether you are a reader, a writer, or both, take a walk over to The Musings of a Misfit to find some gold within her pages.

Description on Amazon
What part of you have you suppressed, keeping it buried so deep inside that you almost forgot what is most important to you? Almost. As you read the poetic ramblings something stirs inside, your foot starts to tap, and you can hardly sit still. Maybe you turn on some music and dance into this new feeling, moving your hips as thoughts roam your head.
From Wild Woman Waking:
“broken smiles surrounding you
listening to ghostly secrets
desires of the heart
prisoner to your life
woman wake up and dance”
You grab your notebook and pen and begin to write. You realize you can’t sit still anymore because your eyes are wide open. Wild Woman Waking will have you looking at things differently and hopefully taking action for yourself.
Wild Woman Waking: “Sleeping isn’t possible once you explore the inner and outer world of poetry; transformation happens and your eyes open wide.”
If you grew up trying to be what other’s wanted and never sure who you really were or are, now you can choose to live and embrace your inner wild woman and maybe you will be inspired to write poetry of your own! Check out Wild Woman Waking!

During the month of March for Women’s History Month you and I can help in making sure the women fighting for our rights and not allowing our rights to be taken away again, and continue to help bring equality for all women – I will donate $1.00 for every full priced purchase of my ebooks, Dancing within Shadow and Wild Woman Waking, from the royalties to Feminist.com. Now don’t let that name scare you off. Feminism has been given a bad rap over the years but basically they are there to help women live complete and full lives with all the rights that are entitled to every human being.
