As I was perusing this next blogger’s site, I had to ask myself, “What have I done?” Wild Woman Waking has landed on See Lorca Write today and she, Lorca Damon, bloody well gets right down to it when reviewing books. She calls it like she sees them, says what’s on her mind, and doesn’t seem to hold anything back. Though I could be wrong about that and the reviews could hold even more than she already writes, but I doubt it. Don’t get me wrong she is an excellent book reviewer; that’s what makes her so good. And it isn’t that she goes about bashing books because she doesn’t, but if she didn’t like it she is going to tell you. Yes I am a little afraid.
The rest of her blog follows the same line, she talks about authors, publishing, writing. Which ever topic she chooses (I love that sometimes her parents throw topics her way), she grabs hold of it with her teeth and tears it wide open. Funny, entertaining and yes snarky. She takes it to a whole new level. She will even warn you ahead of time if the topic just might weird you out, or might make you lose your cookies. Yeah…
This power writing woman, Lorca Damon, is a blogger, mom, and an author with 17 books under her belt. That’s a hefty belt, at least in my book. No not all of them are under the name of Lorca so you may not find them all but the ones you do find I suggest you go and check them out. I just downloaded two of her books, Driving the Demon and Not My Kind (which you can find FREE RIGHT NOW) and I will be downloading her latest book, The Bone Road, very soon.
A few of my favorites to visit:
Lorca Damon writes for several blogs and one of which is Radioactive: On Fire for the Written Word, and I found some pretty helpful tips for writers such as, New Tool from @InstaFreebie Let’s Authors Share their Books for Promos.
This post is on See Lorca Write, I just felt I had to put it in here. This is one that she tries to warn you not to read if you think you might lose your cookies, or lunch, or whatever else you might have in your stomach. That’s Not Milk Coming Out Of Her Nose just might make that happen. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Her most recent post, and a little less nauseating (maybe), I’m Going To Tell You a Nasty Secret About the Publishing Industry.
Time to pour yourself a glass of wine, dark chocolate, and head over to See Lorca Write, whether you laugh, you cry (okay maybe not cry), or you toss your cookies, it’s darn good entertainment that teaches you something along the way!
Wild Woman Waking Book Launch!
Tui Snider and I combined our talents for this book, her artistic photography mixed with my poetic ramblings creates a unique journey indeed.
Description on Amazon
What part of you have you suppressed, keeping it buried so deep inside that you almost forgot what is most important to you? Almost. As you read the poetic ramblings something stirs inside, your foot starts to tap, and you can hardly sit still. Maybe you turn on some music and dance into this new feeling, moving your hips as thoughts roam your head.
From Wild Woman Waking:
“broken smiles surrounding you
listening to ghostly secrets
desires of the heart
prisoner to your life
woman wake up and dance”
You grab your notebook and pen and begin to write. You realize you can’t sit still anymore because your eyes are wide open. Wild Woman Waking will have you looking at things differently and hopefully taking action for yourself.
Wild Woman Waking: “Sleeping isn’t possible once you explore the inner and outer world of poetry; transformation happens and your eyes open wide.”
If you grew up trying to be what other’s wanted and never sure who you really were or are, now you can choose to live and embrace your inner wild woman and maybe you will be inspired to write poetry of your own! Check out Wild Woman Waking!
