Most of you know that I am team leader over at StoryDam.com. Hopefully you also know that I have a fabulous team that each contribute in their own ways with their own talents. Wild Woman Waking has made its way over to StoryDam and the woman that I am about to introduce is a very talented writer, always has a smile for those in the StoryDam community, and is about to become a mama for the very first time! She is Nicole Rivera of StoryDam and her personal blog, Rivera Runs Through It!
I met Nicole shortly after I met Tui through the #commenthour chat on Twitter that I mentioned on a previous post. I loved her sweetness and light as well as her great insight into people. I can sometimes have a difficult time communicating with others and I have relied on her better judgement a time or two. She is so diplomatic. Yes I think that is the right word for her! All of the above reasons are why I asked Nicole to be part of the StoryDam team. I knew that she had talents that I was in short supply of and would greatly enhance the online writing community. We were all very lucky when she said yes.
Nicole writes for our resources section at StoryDam, such as author interviews, book reviews, and helpful articles for writers. On her own blog she writes about books, writing, movies, television, going green, living healthy, finding my zen, the virtual life, cooking/baking, and me as mommy. Basically all things Nicole which are informative, and fun to read.
A few of my favorites:
I love that Nicole uses an Acrostic of her name to tell about herself in the About section on her blog.
Nicole is posting 31 Days to Build a Better Blog on StoryDam only spread out in weeks for those of us that have too much on our plates to do it in 31 days.

Tui Snider and I combined our talents for this book, her artistic photography mixed with my poetic ramblings creates a unique journey indeed.
Description on Amazon
What part of you have you suppressed, keeping it buried so deep inside that you almost forgot what is most important to you? Almost. As you read the poetic ramblings something stirs inside, your foot starts to tap, and you can hardly sit still. Maybe you turn on some music and dance into this new feeling, moving your hips as thoughts roam your head.
From Wild Woman Waking:
“broken smiles surrounding you
listening to ghostly secrets
desires of the heart
prisoner to your life
woman wake up and dance”
You grab your notebook and pen and begin to write. You realize you can’t sit still anymore because your eyes are wide open. Wild Woman Waking will have you looking at things differently and hopefully taking action for yourself.
Wild Woman Waking: “Sleeping isn’t possible once you explore the inner and outer world of poetry; transformation happens and your eyes open wide.”
If you grew up trying to be what other’s wanted and never sure who you really were or are, now you can choose to live and embrace your inner wild woman and maybe you will be inspired to write poetry of your own! Check out Wild Woman Waking!
