Row80 Check in

If you didn’t read my last Wednesday’s check in (I didn’t write a check in on Sunday), it explains why I changed my mind and now I will be participating in NaNoWriMo. I finally finished transferring all of my WIPs and notes from Yarny to Scrivener. Today I am working on getting clear about which story I’ll be writing for  NaNoWriMo and then creating an outline from the book Take Off Your Pants! by Libbie Hawker.

Reading Take Off Your Pants! has me rethinking which WIP I want to do during NaNoWriMo because the one that I mentioned during last Wednesday’s check in I still have some problems with; I’m afraid I won’t be able to finish the 50,000 words. I have another story line that I’ve made some notes on from this last summer that I think would be less complicated and more apt for me to be able to finish within the 30 days.

I’ve never finished NaNoWriMo (I’ve participated twice in previous years) and I am determined to reach the 50,000 goal this year with a first draft that I can work to completion.

OctPoWriMo is almost done, I only have one more prompt I have to write, and my total focus will be on NaNoWriMo.

Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? Do you use Scrivener?

I hope you are doing well and I look forward to supporting you in your writing goals.

  1. A month ago, I was all set to jump into NaNoWriMo, but my two week trip to Kenya earlier this month had me rethinking my focus. I have too many other irons in the fire to drop them all for a month to write those 50,000 words. I think it is better to realize that now than after I jump in.

Best wishes on your own NaNoWriMo. Sounds like you are getting your focus together and I am sure you will make the goal this time.

  2. I am participating in Nanowrimo. I’ve won 4 years; participated for 5. This year I’m shooting for a modified goal of 30k b/c my wrists can’t take 50k anymore.

I recently purchased Scrivener and will be using it for the first time for Nano.

  3. Ahoy there, NaNowriMo is upon us once more. As the saying goes, post NaNo the draft may look crappy in one’s eyes, but it could be diamond in the rough for one to tweak and continue.
I see you transferred thy writing unto scrivener. I think my muse farted,

Anyways I had downloaded and installed the NaNoWriMo template 2015 windows version. So I am ready to meet WriMo once more, unless it suckered punched me again.

after verifying the count and post NaNoWriMo, I will uninstall that damn template and its other thing.

  4. Can’t believe OctPo is almost over and NaNo is just ready to begin. Not sure I am ready, but I will have to be on Sunday, won’t I. Glad to hear you will be NaNoing with us. Cheers!!
