The Void – OctPoWriMo Day 9

“…nor can we know ahead of the fact the unending absence that follows, the void, the very opposite of meaning, the relentless succession of moments during which we will confront the experience of meaningless itself.” ― Joan Didion, The Year of Magical Thinking

open
explosive
out of bounds
inward bound and
on top of the ground
inside out and outside in
feeling… to much as one begins
can’t just be when one simply bleeds
to be oneself not someone else she pleads
other than what one is meant to be on any given
day the chaos pushes in and threatens to implode
the barely  contained  sanity of  one that can’t let go,
can’t  let go  and all  the pieces  keep  piling  up on top
of each other until they all come tumbling out and
drop
unable to be… contained  unable  to stay  above it all
as the explosion or the implosion of the pieces fall
to the ground  this goes beyond being annoyed
one knows when  things fall  apart the void
waits  to  fill  it up  like  an  empty  dish
void can become anything you wish
and   staying  in  the  void  to  let
go of  the   chaos  to  just  let
things be in the safety net
once  again  it  will  be
okay  for  you to see
who  you  are and
only  you  can
be  truly
you

“Sometimes poets write what we wish we could say, and they tell us what we need to know. The poems in Wild Woman Waking lead us to a place where we can proudly refuse to be “bent and broken”; instead, they document a journey to self-acceptance, peace, and understanding – where in a community of women, we celebrate and dance as Mud Women. We become women of spirit and keepers of our own keys.” ~Beth Camp

  1. Breath-taking!

Visually stunning and amazing content. The form you chose really compliments the lines and works in a fashion that allows the reader to fall into it with ease.

This is such a graceful piece.
